Association "Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood" is starting a fundraising campaign for buying a video-EEG system for the Children clinic at St. George hospital in Plovdiv — the only specialized child clinic in south Bulgaria.
The goal is that the little patients of the clinic can have access to a video-EEG system free of cost. The equipment will help diagnose, monitor the condition of children with various neurological diseases. The total value of the base package, along with the additional two cameras and a computer, is BGN 18,583.11. The price includes the delivery of the equipment to the clinic, installation, and training for use.
The video-EEG system will give hope for a better life and adequate treatment of thousands of children in Bulgaria suffering from different neurological diseases. At present, in south Bulgaria, there is no such equipment in a state hospital, and the patients' families are obliged to travel far or to pay for the study in a private clinic that is not in the abilities of all families.
With this equipment, it will be possible to continuously monitor children with neurological diseases by a video recording, along with the EEG observation.
The clinic has qualified staff who in real time, can read the recordings of the system and can correct the patients' treatment timely.
